Fruit and nut is my all time favorite chocolate bar. Bar none. I also LOVE chocolate. I have been known to dream in chocolate from time to time. Last night I had such a dream, that when I woke up this morning I knew what I needed to do... make Fruit & Nut bars! And that's just what I did!
I have actually never made this recipe before, but thought the base of it would be a fudge and then just layer the flavors from there. So here we go!
Fruit & Nut Bars.
what you need.
1-1/2 pkg. (12 squares) Semi-Sweet Chocolate, chopped
1 can (300 mL) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup craisins
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans
1/2 cup coarsely chopped almonds
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Place chocolate in medium saucepan. Add milk; cook on low heat 8 to 10 min. or until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring frequently.
Add remaining ingredients; mix well.
Spread immediately into prepared pan.
Refrigerate 6 hours or until set. Store leftovers in tightly covered container in refrigerator.
These are super yummy! And you feel sooooo less guilty about a little treat because they are super thin! Make a whole batch and then share them with your friends...or hide them in the freezer for a yummy snack just for you.
Have a great day!
