I have been trying to decide what I would like to door at my front door in regards to a wreath. I have bought several items for my "materials" but could just never commit. Then I thought, why am I continuing to buy? I have a slew of stuff around my house that I know I could piece SOMETHING together. So I shopped in my garage and pulled out a beautiful old chippy window from my Memere & Pepere's (french grandma & grandpa) old barn.
I had to pry the windows out as I wanted this to be a somewhat safe wreath and some of the windows where broken anyway. I'll save the intact glass pieces for another project.
Next I headed downstairs and pulled out a grapevine wreath I used from this past Christmas.
I pulled the Christmas bow and ornaments off and then laid the wreath on top of the window. I used some picture hanging wire to keep them secure.
I then added a ribbon to the window to hoist it up on the door hook, and a couple butterflies I had already purchased a while back. And here you have it!
A wreath that reflects a window into spring (yes, that is snow you see falling...).
I love it and the best part is it's totally different from any other wreath I have seen. Oh yeah, it was also FREE!
